Selecting an Oriental Rug
Perhaps you feel a little bewildered, frustrated or
maybe just downright confused on how to go about selecting an Oriental rug.
Here's a few suggestions on how to start the process:
| |
1. Before starting the selecting process, measure the
space or spaces in which you wish to use a rug- jot down the largest and the
smallest size that will work.
2. Choose the basic colors that you would like to
emphasize (bring along couch cushion or a swatch of material, if available).

 |
3. Once inside the store, look through the various
designs and choose one or more that you like (don't be surprised if this
comes quicker than you'd expect- often times, your first impulse is the
design you'll ultimately choose). 4. We at Old World Rugs will be happy to show you
various qualities of rugs so you can choose a few rugs |
| |
5. In-Home Trial- Take a couple of "candidates" home
for a trial. Looking at the rug on the floor, in place, with you furniture
and lighting will eliminate guessing. Either it will look "like it's always
been there" or it's not the rug for you. in the quality you desire. |

 |
6. Enjoy your rug for years to come- you'll
love it more and more as the years go by. |
